Exclusive interview with Baga Chipz

Baga Chipz, the most famous woman in Britain! Welcome to Spill the Tea my love.
Hello!

How has this year treated you so far and what have you been up to?
This year has been absolutely lovely the fans have just been so nice and supportive. It's treated me very very well, I've been touring all around the world! I mean I'm in my 30’s and it's only since Drag Race that I've really travelled. Don’t get wrong I used to go to the odd place like Spain and stuff but now I've been to all over the state of Australia, the flight absolutely killed me but I got there and back one piece. You know, just great, I'm making new friends, we've got a new batch of girls, more sisters getting the Limelight they deserve so yes, all good in the hood!

We are here to talk about the next RuPaul’s Drag Con UK! Having werked a Drag Con before, why should people attend?
Well if you're a fan of drag this is for you! You won't find anything else like this in the world. This is the Olympics of drag, this is the opening ceremony at the Olympics for drag. It's the bee's knees, if you're a drag fan you'll love this. People travel from all around the world to come! You're going to have over a hundred Queens from all franchises of the RuPaul Drag Race, we've got singers dancers…there's gonna be boobs, merch from every Queen, there's going to be looks, there's going to be performances from your favourite girl groups including the top five selling girl band in the UK, THE FROCK DESTROYERS. Yes, we're still going strong without being b*tchy, girl bands come and go but with the front destroyers Friendship Never Ends!

I have such a great time. I get very Broody at Drag Con because you have all the little babies and stuff I'm like hello, hello, little babby. Then I'll see the older generation and you know me, I saw a 92 year old and she had like pink spray in her hair and I was like oh my God, this is just incredible! She was like you've made my day and it's just so nice seeing people who love what you do for a living and they appreciate you.

What's it like having Queens from all the different franchises Under One Roof?
It's fab because it’s very rare that we get to see each other. If I go to Canada I'll see Jimbo and stuff, if I go to America I'll catch up with JuJu but there's queens that I've never met from certain franchises like the Spanish and the French and all that. I just met all the Australian girls some of them are coming too so it will be good to catch up with them. After the show I'll take them out on the town. You're going to see all these drag queens out in all the clubs.

It'll be great , London what know what hit it. Who are you most excited to see?
I always love catching up with Jimbo, they’re such a good friend of mine every time Jimbo comes to London he stays at my house, same goes for JuJu. I just love a catch up. I only saw Davina a few days ago but you know what I mean, even though we only live what a couple of hours from each other Blu lives like what, an hour on the plane, it's just good when the three of us are back together. We come as a threesome sometimes, WE WOULD NEVER HAVE A THREESOME. *Baga laughs* and Viv, I like a good catch up with Viv.

Give us a teaser (without any big spoilers of course) as to what they can expect from your booth!
Well it obviously it's very British, I mean I am the quintessential British queen MBE. So you're probably going to see something totally different this time. I've obviously done the British fish and chip shop, I've done the old slappers living room look so you never know there might be something very Royal this time, we're talking jewels and thrones! I’m feeling very Victorian lately! It might be like a Mary Poppins kind of theme, chimneys, chimney sweeps it's gonna be very British, very Oliver Twist and Mary Poppins.

Can you describe Drag Con in three words.
Oh so I would say
Ecstatic
Camp
Inclusive. It's very inclusive for everyone no matter what gender, religion, whatever, everyone is welcome to stretch on I mean as long as you're respectful to other people you're more than welcome.

Do you ever get used to the amount of people that turn out in support of the show?
No! I don't get used to it. Sometimes I’m my biggest critic and sometimes I go to the shows and I'm like oh my God I can't believe these people have just come to my solo shows. I can't believe all these people have just come to see me. I’ve done shows where people were crying saying I can't believe I've met you and all this and I'm just like, wow! I've just come back from Australia and America and people were crying. I'm just a global Superstar!
