Exit interview with Copper Topp

How would you describe your experience in the competition?
My time on the show was a massive adventure. There were ups there were downs, but through it all I've achieved one of my biggest dreams, and I’ve made friends for life, who are now my sisters for life. I also got to meet some absolute icons including Joanna Lumley. Yes, please! That was a big tick off the bucket list.

I'm just thrilled because It's taken me a long time to kind of accept myself and by being myself on the show, I feel like I've taken a huge step forward in in my life. I feel really proud of myself right now, and I can't wait to see what the future holds, and it's all thanks to Drag Race UK!

What was your favourite part of the experience?
A big highlight for me was winning the Girl Band challenge because I really had to knuckle down on that one. Singing is also something I love. I want to continue to record and release music in the future so it was fantastic to do that with my fellow queens.

What’s next for Copper Topp?
My experience with Leland and Freddie Scott during the girl band challenge was so incredible it inspired me to record music! So with my love of bands/artists like Muse, Yungblud, 21 Pilots  and Green Day. I’ve released a my new single 'Weirdo' - a queer anthem for the LGBTQIA+ community. And as you know, I’m a big fan of British camp comedy , so watch out for my new comedy sketch show on YouTube!

What advice would you give to any budding drag queens watching?
Get out there and meet people. Go to the shows of drag queens that inspire you and turn up in drag. Introduce yourself. You are a brand from the off, so go to shows in drag and meet people to get your name out there! Mingle, mingle, mingle because mingling is the best thing in the world. Also, do competitions because there are so many amazing drag competitions around the UK. It’s really where you meet the best drag performers in the industry.
