Exit Interview with Lemon

How was your time on the show?
Bittersweet.

What was it like to compete alongside your international drag sisters in Drag Race UK Versus The World
Honestly, it was an honour. I have so much respect for all of the queens competing and felt so proud to be among them and representing Canada.

How do you feel about being the first queen to sashay away in the series?

At the end of the day, drag and any art for that matter, is subjective. Do I completely agree with the judges? No! But this is a competition, and it’s not an evaluation of whether I am talented or worthy of time on that stage. I know who I am, I know what I love to do, and I know what I bring to the table, and that’s what I will always be proud of.

Would you do anything differently if you could do it all over again?
Of course not! It was my first time ever even being seen by Ru or Michelle and it was important for me to do it my way. The world knows I love rap, and I had to come through doing me regardless of the outcome.

What’s next for Lemon?
I have tours booked across Canada, the UK, US and Europe reaching into 2023 and I have so many incredible TV, music and fashion projects in the works as well! Getting to be on stage performing for people is what fuels me, and after the past few years, I think we could all use some extra zest!

The series will air on British screens exclusively on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer from Tuesday 1 February at 9pm, with new episodes release weekly on Tuesdays.
