Exit interview with Sminty Drop
How would you describe your experience in the competition?
It was an absolute whirlwind. It was just crazy from start to the end like I just felt like a headless chicken running around from as soon as I walked in! It was incredible to see so many legends in the drag circuit that I’ve been familiar with throughout my drag career so to have the chance to compete against them was insane.
What was your favourite part of the experience?
I definitely loved the photo shoot challenge as I like to say I’m a look queen and I’m very photogenic so I felt very much in my realm! It was also amazing to be on the Main Stage and hear the judges critiques each week and also receive praise from the icon that is RuPaul. It was such a great opportunity to hear feedback on my looks and how I could elevate to the next level.
What’s next for Sminty Drop?
Well, that’d be telling! But, expect to see me on magazine covers. You will see me on the runways. I've got plenty more looks to show, this is not the end of Sminty Drop! I can’t wait to keep representing the House of Kendoll and hopefully, keep making Manchester proud. I can’t wait for what the future holds.
What advice would you give to any budding drag queens watching?
Don’t break the bank. You can make your drag look amazing on a budget! When I started doing drag, I went to charity shops all the time. Also, practise, practise, practise. Practise doing your make up and hair at home so you feel comfortable before heading out in drag!
Drag Race UK Series 4 will airs weekly on BBC iPlayer and worldwide on WowPresents Plus.
