RuPaul's Drag Race Season 16 Episode 14

The episode starts with the queens reflecting on their track records and how close they are to the win. Each one of them is determined to make it to the end.

For the last mini-challenge, as Mama Ru calls it, they have to lip sync underwater to one of Ru’s songs. Sapphira does a swim cap reveal and wins the final mini-challenge. The way Ru announces the maxi challenge as the final maxi challenge makes one feel a bit sad to be reminded that this season is ending soon.

The queens have to write stories about their lives, inspired by Ru’s new memoir. Nymphia’s worst nightmare comes true as the last thing she wanted for the maxi challenge was writing. She comforts herself with the fact that it doesn’t necessarily have to be funny; instead, it’s about writing stories.

The queens also have to shoot a cover for their memoir, and Ru does a photoshoot with each of them. Especially Q and Ru seem to connect during the shoot.

Next, the queens each have an interview with Matt Rogers in which they tell us more about their stories. Plane talks about how being shady can be a good thing and comes from a point of love, Saphira shares how she embraces every part of herself, even her slue walk. Q remembers how her family struggled financially while growing up, and Nymphia confesses to struggling with her image to the point where she doesn’t want to look into the mirror.

Every story shows the queens' vulnerability and honesty, especially from Nymphia, we see a whole new side of her which hasn’t been shown so far.

Getting ready for the final runway, the queens reflect on the season and Nymphia’s struggles get brought up as the other girls always think that she’s just putting on a show when she is nervous about a challenge. However, Nymphia confirms that she doesn’t act as if she is showing her real emotions and that this is just how her brain works.

The runway category is ‘fandango’, and the queens show their best fan runway-inspired looks. They are all flawless; however, Sapphira and Nymphia stand out as they both have a reveal included in their look. Sapphira’s gown opens up to a massive fan and Nymph’s pussy is on fire! The judges critique Q and Plane for not being authentic enough in their memoir which lands them both in the bottom, while Nymphia wins the challenge, which leaves her surprised. In the lip sync, Plane takes off her look to reveal her body and fake titties, which she swings around to the beat, leaving no chance for Q. Everyone knows if you want to win a drag race lip sync, you better have big tits!

Q leaving creates a heartbreaking scene as it is clear how devastated she is to go just before the finale. She leaves the stage sobbing which brings tears to Sapphira’s eyes as well. It is sad to see her go; they could have easily had a final 4, in which she’s included.

Next episode, all the eliminated queens will come back, which shocks the finalists. They will be having a lip-sync smackdown. An interesting concept for one of the final episodes, as usually lip sync smackdowns can be a bit repetitive and boring to watch, but who knows maybe it will be different this time.
