Exclusive Interview - Honey Foxx
Honey Foxx, welcome gorgeous to Spill the Tea! To start, when did you discover you wanted to do drag?
Well I have always been a show off and a spot light jogger even from a very young age I grew up with a older sister and we would always put of shows and dress up together, it’s probably all her fault really!
How did you choose your Drag name?
Honey Foxx was the best of a bad bunch of drag names, one of my earlier names was Magenta Foxx and even before that I was Candy Von Floss! Can you imagine! Foxx was always a regular occurrence for a second name though. I think I identify with the animal a lot, always seen at night screeching.
We must say you can pull a look! How would you describe your drag style and how long did it take you to find what works?
“So I find this question hard because I don’t think Honey Foxx has a certain style she prides herself on being very eclectic always in something different and always trying something different with a great attention to detail! It doesn’t take me long to get a look together but when I have an idea in my head I won’t rest till it’s come to life.”
You have a very impressive Drag resume that we could talk about but as a huge Little Mix fan, we must talk about your appearance in the Little Mix ‘Bounce Back’ pride edition music video. How was that performing with the girls?
The Little Mix girls were amazing so down to earth and so much fun to work with the whole day was a joy!
What has been your personal highlight so far?
Well a up and coming personal highlight that was postponed due to the pandemic was me competing in the next Miss Sink The Pink competition so keep your eyes pealed!
How has Covid changed the way you do Drag?
Covid has definitely put the breaks on my drag performance wise but I tried to entertain over my social media platforms best I could. I think a lot of people over the last year lost a lot of drive, getting into drag just to stay in your bedroom is hard and abit depressing. For me it was anyway...
What are you most looking forward to doing with your Drag when freedom resumes?
World domination! Let’s go! I have a lot of stuff coming up in 2021 with Bougie Drag Brunch, BoyToy Brunch, Go GAGA brunch, STP and Mighty Hoopla and you never know you may see me on TV to, all info for those events can be found via the link in my bio on Instagram.
Your Bougie Brunch sister Tayce recently competed on Drag Race UK Season 2 – Were you proud of what they did on the show?
Oh absolutely! Tayce was made for drag and she did us all proud as did all the other girls!!!
What does the future hold for Honey Foxx?
As I said before a lot of gigs and I hope to travel more in the future and bring Miss Foxx to other countries!
