As a fan of the show, how did it feel to be on the judging panel?
I felt like I’d won a competition. It is such an inspirational show and to be a part of this magical world is sensational!

What do you love about RuPaul’s Drag Race UK?
The enthusiasm and talent. It’s just good nourishment for the soul.

How would you describe your judging style?
Personal and kind.

What would your drag name be?
Ruth Top Garden.

Guest Judge Nicola Coughlan Q&A

What made you want to be a part of the third series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK?
I have been a Drag Race megafan for the past ten years. It’s one of my favourite shows in the entire world. I’m obsessed with it and I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of it so when I found out that Drag Race was coming to the UK in the first place, I was like ‘Well my main goal in life is now to be a guest judge!’ so I was relentless about it!

I used to go to see all the Queens when I had no money working as a waitress and I’d save up all of my money to see Shangela in The Black Cap in Camden so I felt very qualified. It was one of the best days of my life, I can’t lie!

What was it like to be on the set?
One of the first things I had to do on set was walk down the runway and it was terrifying! It was like a dream because I have seen the show so many times as I’m such a huge fan. It was absolutely incredible. The first time I saw Ru was when she walked down the runway… it was beyond incredible.

What’s your judging style like?
I would hope it’s constructive and supportive because when I was there and face to face with the queens, I saw how hard they all worked and how talented they all are. I hit really hit me how tough the competition is when I saw it in person so I wanted to try and be constructive as well as give them love because they are all superstars.

What would your drag name be?
Kylie Gender. It’s a mix between Kylie Jenner, Kylie Minogue and Clarke Gable. As Kylie, I’ve got blue hair and a moustache. My friends and I had a drag quiz and I dressed up as Kylie for the first time and I absolutely loved it so I think she needs a public outing!

Guest judge Lulu Q&A

Why did you want to take part in the show?
During lockdown, this was one of the most fun, entertaining, glamorous, camp ways to spend an evening. After watching the show I always felt uplifted….. it was THE BEST tonic!

What would your drag persona be called?
Drag persona… darling, I’ve wondered what my name should be… But what is camper than Lulu (as said by Elton John)?! You could say Lulu is my alter ego!

Describe your time on the show in three words?
Walking on air.

Series three of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will return to BBC iPlayer from 7pm on Thursday 23 September, with new episodes weekly.
