RPDR - Season 13 - Episode 12 Review

Before we jump into this, there are spoilers below if you haven’t watched the episode yet. All the comments below are just my fun opinion, its a TV show don’t get upset if I didn’t like your favourite Queen!

I’m still not over the fact the UK series has ended but the US is still going, giving us our Drag Race fix and something to look forward to at the end of a week. Episode 12 starts with the Queens returning from Tina’s elimination with Utica staying. Utica at first seems really upset at the fact that Tina has gone home, but suddenly as if a switch was flicked changes her tune and is all happy and bubbly again. Either way the Queens don’t look to happy about it. Although I previously said I thought the season had been dragging on a bit, when the Queens sat on the sofas I realised there isn’t actually many of the Queens left. De-dragged and ready for another day the Queens enter the werkroom to be told by Ru that their mini challenge this week is to get into pairs to show off beauty products. The pairings we got were Rose and Kandy, Symone and Olivia and Utica with Gottmik. When in the room one Queen would be the arms and the other would be the face / beauty expert commentator. Honestly this challenge was brilliant and all the Queens commentating did an amazing job. I really couldn't pick a winner. All were fantastic! Rose and Kandy were given the win by Ru which gave them the chance to pick the running order.

Mini challenge done and the Queens are told to get ready for a nice girls roast! Up for a roasting are former Miss Congeniality’s Heidi N Closet, Valentina and Nina West. The Queens get to work at writing their scripts and then take it in turns practising with Michelle and Loni Love before jumping right on the main stage.
During this practice session the Queens took on very different approaches. Some had to explain every joke they told, some like Rose and Kandy hit it out the park and Utica was on a whole other level called mean! (Although I was with Utica on the Timon and Pumbaa joke, that was funny).

Advice given when it got to the main stage it was pretty much the same as rehearsals. The stand outs were Kandy, Rose and Gottmik. The okayer was Symone and worst for me was Olivia and Utica. I also felt the Miss Congeniality Queens were great picks but their role seemed a little lost, I know they had limited time for jokes but I felt they could have gone for them more.

Either way the funniest bit from the episode was when Utica asked RuPaul to stand up, Ru’s answer was holding up his two middle fingers. I’m pretty sure this will go down as one of the most memorable moments of the season for sure. It also gave us a real insight into a fun Ru letting his guard down a little.

Either way we see Symone and Utica in the bottom (I would have personally put Olivia there) and with the lip sync done we see Utica sent home. Which I did agree with.

Let us know in the comments how you felt the roast went and then join us next week for another review!
